Nikhil Majithia began his career as an electrical and IT engineer. He spent seven years as a design engineer in the Indian Space Research Organization before moving on to several other US organizations including Siemens Business Solutions Ltd.
Like many others in engineering, he decided to make a shift to financial markets by enrolling in the Illinois Institute of Technology’s MS in Financial Markets. In 2004, he graduated from the program Summa Cum Laude. He earned the coveted CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) charter in 2006 and is a member of the CFA society of Chicago. He also holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) charter, which he earned in 2005.
He currently works as an Investment Manager for a financial planning firm, Vantage Financial Partners Ltd, based in Arlington Heights, IL, where he is responsible for managing over $50 million in discretionary fee based assets for the firm’s clients. He also builds new asset allocation models incorporating alternative investment strategies using long/short open-ended mutual funds, commodities/CTAs and real estate funds. He is responsible for mutual fund research and tracking as well as the creation of customized benchmarks for the firm. He believes that smaller firms like Vantage provide an ideal opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people from all walks of life by genuinely helping them reach their financial goals.
