Graduate Admission Requirements - Non-Degree Students

Description: A non-degree student is admitted by IIT Stuart as a non-degree student, and is registered as a non-degree student. Admission to this status does not constitute admission to a certificate or degree program. A non-degree student may complete one or two courses total. International applicants planning to enroll at IIT Stuart on a student visa may not apply as a non-degree student due to immigration regulations.

Application: You may apply for admission as a non-degree student in any quarter. We suggest that you submit your completed application form and supporting documents before the start of the quarter for which admission is desired. Applications received close to the start of the quarter or during late registration may be reviewed on a space-available basis.

To apply as a non-degree student, please submit the following:

• Application and accompanying forms.
• Official college transcripts (undergraduate and graduate). Download the transcript request form.
• We encourage you to submit a current resume.
• $75.00 USD application fee. If you have previously paid an application fee to Illinois Institute of Technology, the application fee is waived.

Admission requirements: Enrollment is limited to students who have already completed a bachelor's degree at an accredited institution and who have at least two years of work experience. Completion of prerequisite classes, assessments of background or diagnostic mathematics exam may be required prior to registration in certain classes.

Enrollment: Non-degree students may apply credits toward a degree if they decide to pursue a master's or doctoral degree and are admitted as a degree-seeking student at IIT Stuart. Non-degree students seeking to convert to degree-seeking status must complete the regular degree-seeking application for admission to a degree program prior to the completion of nine (9) credit hours of study. A maximum of nine (9) hours of approved coursework taken as a non-degree student with a grade of 'B' or better may be applied to the degree.
