Strategic Management of Organizations

Description

This concentration provides the economic and financial tools, broad overview of the business environment, and organizational concepts and techniques needed to evaluate the competitive position of an existing or proposed business.

Issues of profitability, sustainability, flexibility, and capability are addressed in an integrated manner. Students develop the skills to evaluate the current and future profitability of a business, its cost of operation, its organizational design, and its ability to identify, implement, and market a creative idea that leads to a successful product/service.

These skills should be of interest to functional and general managers, entrepreneurs, investment analysts, corporate planners, consultants, or anyone else who needs to distinguish between "a good idea" and "a profitable business." IIT Stuart also offers a Strategic Management of Organizations certificate program.
