Pamela Munizzi
M.P.A., Stuart School of BusinessSince 1976, Pamela Munizzi has dedicated her life to public service. From her first job out of college as a neighborhood and youth services worker for the City of Chicago Department of Human Services to her last position as deputy chief of staff to the Cook County Board of Commissioners, Munizzi has remained steadfast in her desire to help others.
Her role as a public servant has given her opportunities to hold administrative positions within Cook County, the City of Chicago, the Illinois General Assembly, and the Chicago Park District. Before becoming deputy chief of staff, Munizzi was assistant commissioner of the City of Chicago Department of Streets and Sanitation. She also served on the Illinois House of Representatives for the 21st District from 1989–1992 and the Illinois State Senate for the 11th District from 1992–93.
"I'd like to think that I did the best job I could have done in each position," says Munizzi, who decided to return to school for her master's degree more than 20 after attaining her baccalaureate. "I have tried to give my all in each of the positions I've held, and with the commitment to the people and citizens who were served; they deserve nothing less."
Although she retired in 2009, Munizzi still helps others through her many volunteer activities, including her roles as president of the Park Employees Annuity and Benefit Fund, and board member of the Valentine Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago and Special Children's Charities/Special Olympics Chicago.
