Jiong Sun
Assistant Professor of ManagementJiong Sun is one of IIT's newest professors, having started teaching here fall semester 2007. He came to IIT because of the university's focus on technology and innovation. A Ph.D. candidate at Carnegie Mellon University, Jiong Sun's research interests span two key areas - Globalization and Technological Innovation Management. His efforts primarily are focused on the study of technological systems, in which technology, firms, markets and environments interact, by integrating concepts from economics, operations, marketing and engineering. His research work is motivated by field studies in diverse industries such as biofuel, safety equipment and automobile. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Shanghai Jian Tong University in China, a Masters in Manufacturing Engineering from National University of Singapore and a M.S. in Industrial Administration from Carnegie Mellon University.
