Minor in Business

The Minor in Business is available to all undergraduate students except those majoring in Business Administration or Business Administration and Applied Science. The business minor consists of five courses for most students.

Required Courses
The following three courses are required for a minor in Business:

  • ECON 211 - Economics (Combined Macro- and Micro-economics)
  • BUS 210 - Introduction to Financial and Managerial Accounting
  • BUS 301 - Theory of Organization and Management

In addition, the student must choose two of the following three courses:

  • ECON 423 - Economic Analysis of Capital Investments
  • BUS 305 - Operations Management
  • BUS 371 - Introduction to Marketing

Students desiring a more robust Minor in Business may substitute ECON 151 and 152 for ECON 211 and/or BUS 211 and BUS 212 for BUS 210. However, ECON 151 (or 152) alone will not suffice for ECON 211. Nor will BUS 211 (or 212) alone suffice for BUS 210.

Chemical Engineering majors should also take CHE 426 or another engineering science course.
