Undergraduate Business Programs
In Fall 2012 semester, IIT Stuart launched a distinctive and innovative undergraduate program, designed for business majors who want to be able to “speak the language” of architects, engineers, scientists, or other professional colleagues. It is an unparalleled advantage in an economy built upon emerging technologies and technical expertise.
Our undergraduate students can earn their bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in one of the many scientific or technology-oriented disciplines available at IIT. For example, you may want to pursue a business degree with a concentration in computer science, architecture or engineering. It’s a new type of business education for those who want to be leaders in a world where technology is the foundation of innovation.
Project-based courses let students continuously apply the concepts they learn in the classroom to real-world situations. This hands-on approach complements IIT’s culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. Programs including Interprofessional Projects (IPROs) [http://ipro.iit.edu/] and Entrepreneurial Professional Projects (EnPROs), and the opportunity to work for start-up companies in IIT’s new business incubator, connect students with leading-edge companies to bring new ideas to market.
Small Class Sizes
Small class sizes mean that your instructors will know you by first name. Students work closely with faculty mentors and industry professionals who bring their professional experience and a passion for teaching to the classroom.
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
IIT Stuart's B.S.B.A. offers concentrations in finance and marketing, in addition to the option of specializing in many disciplines at IIT. Popular specializations include architecture, computer science, and engineering. Review program requirements.
If you enrolled prior to Fall 2012 or are a transfer student, review the undergraduate bulletin, which lists curriculum information and course descriptions for the previous B.S.B.A. and B.S.B.A. Applied Science programs.
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Master of Public Administration (B.S.B.A./M.P.A.)
The B.S.B.A./M.P.A. co-terminal degree program allows students to complete both an undergraduate Business Administration and a graduate Public Administration degree in five years. This approach enables students to gain greater knowledge in specialized areas while completing fewer credit hours, with better scheduling flexibility than completing the two degrees separately.
Application to and acceptance into the M.P.A. program is open to students who have attained at least junior standing in the B.S.B.A. program. Students must maintain a combined 3.0 GPA to be admitted to and remain in a co-terminal degree program.
The application for the B.S.B.A./M.P.A. co-terminal program is accessible through the myIIT portal. Under the Academics tab, locate the Graduate Admission-Student channel and then access the link for the co-terminal application. Learn more about co-terminal degrees.
IIT Leadership Academy enables students to improve their personal effectiveness and professional leadership skills. Through integrated exercises, workshops, seminars, inspirational speakers and visiting business leaders, students learn about teamwork, professional responsibility and working in diverse cultures—skills every leader needs.
